Disclosure

Advertiser and lending disclosure

How our service is paid for, what that means for the offers you see, and what lenders control.

The website at aheadlendings.com ("we", "us", "our") operates a free loan-request and matching service. We want you to understand exactly how the service works and how it is funded before you submit a request, so this disclosure explains it in plain terms.

We are not a lender

We do not make loans, make credit decisions, broker loans on your behalf or fund any account. We pass the information you provide to lenders and lending partners in our network. Any lender that receives your request decides independently whether to make you an offer.

Submitting a request does not mean you will be approved or receive an offer. Loan amounts, approval, APR, fees, repayment terms and funding times are determined solely by the lender. We are not an agent, representative or broker of any lender, and we do not endorse any particular lender or loan product.

How we are compensated

Using our service is free for consumers. We receive compensation from lenders, lending partners and other advertisers in our network. Compensation may be paid when your request is shared with a partner, when you click through to a partner's site, or when a loan or other product is completed with a partner.

We may also receive compensation for displaying other financial products or services, such as credit monitoring or debt relief offers, if no lender is able to make you a loan offer.

How compensation may influence which offers appear

Compensation we receive may influence which lenders and partners receive your request, which offers are shown to you, and the order in which offers appear. A partner that pays more may be shown before or more prominently than another.

Compensation does not change the rate, fees or terms a lender offers you. Those are set by the lender based on its own criteria, which commonly include your credit history, income, existing debt, loan amount, term and state of residence. We encourage you to compare every offer by APR, total repaid and fees, not by its position on the screen.

Not all lenders or products are shown

Our network does not include every lender or every loan product available in the market. Other lenders, credit unions, banks or products not shown through our service may offer terms that are better for your situation. We recommend checking with your own bank or credit union as well.

Rates and terms are set by lenders

Personal loan APRs offered through lenders in our network commonly range from about 6% to 36%. Loan amounts available through the service range from $500 to $5,000, with repayment terms commonly from about 3 to 36 months; some lenders offer longer terms. Some lenders charge an origination fee, commonly 0% to 10% of the loan amount, which is often deducted from the funds you receive.

All figures on this site are estimates for general information. Your actual APR, fees and terms will be shown in the loan offer and agreement from the lender. Read the lender's terms carefully before you accept, including any late payment, returned payment or prepayment provisions.

Representative example (estimate): $2,000 borrowed over 12 months at 24% APR = 12 monthly payments of about $189.12; total repaid about $2,269.43 (about $269.43 in interest). This example is for illustration only and is not an offer.

Credit checks

Many lenders use a soft credit inquiry to show prequalified offers, which does not affect your credit score. If you choose to formally apply with a lender, the lender will usually perform a hard credit inquiry, which may affect your credit score. Lenders may also verify your information with consumer reporting agencies and other data providers.

State availability

The service and the loan products of lenders in our network are not available in every state. Lenders are licensed or otherwise permitted to lend only in certain states, and state laws affect maximum amounts, rates, fees and terms. Minimum age requirements are 18 in most states and 19 in Alabama and Nebraska. Residents of some states may receive fewer offers or no offers.

Responsible borrowing

A loan is a financial commitment. Missing payments can lead to late fees, collections activity and damage to your credit history; lenders may report payment activity to credit bureaus. Borrow only what you need, and choose a payment that fits your budget. If you are struggling with debt, consider contacting a nonprofit credit counseling agency.
